💨 Realistic Exhaust – Exhaust smoke, just like in the real world!
Realistic Exhaust replaces the basic smoke stages in Farming Simulator 25 with a dynamic exhaust model.
Fuel quantity, air supply, turbocharger, boost pressure, engine temperature, and the soot limit all work together to determine the color, density, and volume of the smoke.
This gives every engine its own unique character.
🔥 Dynamic Exhaust Behavior
- Smoke reacts to engine load, RPM, and throttle position.
- Turbochargers feature realistic response times.
- Bursts of throttle, sudden drops in RPM, and changes in load result in varying smoke patterns.
- Older engines tend to produce more smoke under load.
- High RPMs with no load result in nearly clear exhaust.
- Starting the engine produces a distinct, dense puff of smoke.
❄️ Cold Engines
Cold engines may produce white vapor or a bluish-white smoke caused by unburnt fuel.
This effect disappears as the engine warms up.
Cold temperatures and high humidity make water vapor more visible.
🎨 Smoke Colors
Depending on the engine and its operating state, various shades are produced:
- Deep black
- Brownish-black
- Grayish-brown
- Bluish-gray
- White
- Bluish-white
Once emitted, particles do not change color; instead, they age naturally—becoming lighter and thinner before gradually dissipating.
🌬️ Realistic Exhaust Output
- Smoke originates directly from the visible exhaust pipe.
- Particle size and exit velocity scale according to engine power.
- Gentle output at idle.
- More intense exhaust flow under heavy load.
- Supports vehicles with multiple exhaust pipes.
- Exhausts that are hidden or invisible do not produce smoke. 🎮 Throttle
The volume of smoke increases dynamically based on the throttle position:
- Below 30%: minimal smoke
- Up to 50%: moderate amount
- From 50% upwards: increasingly intense
- From 75% upwards: maximum smoke volume and exit velocity
🌦️ Weather
- Wind influences direction and turbulence.
- Warm air causes water vapor to dissipate more quickly.
- Cold conditions and rain make the vapor more visible.
- Rain reduces the amount of soot in the smoke plume.
🏭 16 Engine Profiles
The engine library includes profiles for:
- Older and modern diesel engines
- Gasoline (petrol) engines
- Naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines
- Hot-bulb (semi-diesel) engines
- Two-stroke engines
- Methane-powered engines
- Small and large engines
Assignment is handled automatically based on fuel type, vehicle category, power output, model series, year of manufacture, and detected exhaust technology.
Special Vehicle Types
- Modern diesels with AdBlue: virtually smoke-free
- Gasoline engines: no black diesel soot
- Motorcycles: primarily heat shimmer
- Bicycles: no exhaust emissions
- Electric vehicles: no exhaust emissions
Engine profiles can be customized in `data/engineLibrary.xml`.
