Quick update for everyone running Tornado Physics: Version 3 is in the works!
I've fixed the bugs reported in V2 (including the store damage issues) and added some major new mechanics. I'm currently stress-testing everything to ensure it's rock solid before release.
What to expect in V3:
Dynamic Scaling: The tornado now detects your map size. A storm on a huge 16x map will have a much larger destruction radius than one on a standard map.
Smarter Physics: Improved suction logic and safety borders.
Back to testing—release coming soon!
@l actu des jeux thanks for the feed back i will do some testing with the newer version that should be dropping soon. ... Merci pour vos commentaires. Je vais effectuer des tests avec la nouvelle version qui devrait sortir prochainement.
Thanks to everyone for the reports! I am actively working on getting these bugs taken care of. I’ve already fixed the issue causing vehicles to take damage immediately at the store.
However, during that process, I discovered one more issue that I want to squash before release. I will get a patched version uploaded as soon as possible. Stay tuned! In the meantime, please drop back down to version 1.0 if you are currently affected.
The question is whether the appearance of the tornado itself can be edited somehow to make it a little wider or higher?
@Kimi88 Great question! Yes, it is definitely possible.
The tornado is just a standard 3D object in the game world. While I am not a 3D artist, since my mod already 'finds' the tornado to apply physics, I could theoretically add a command to 'Scale' it up or down via the script (e.g., making it 50% wider or taller).
However, keep in mind that making it visually bigger wouldn't automatically change the physics area (suction zone) unless I adjusted that to match. I might experiment with a 'Mega Tornado' setting in a future update that scales both the visuals and the physics together!
