A realism-focused FS22 mod aimed at making wholecrop cereal harvesting work more like it does in real life, especially in the UK.
When wheat, barley or oats are harvested for wholecrop silage with a forage harvester, the crop will be cut higher than normal so a large proportion of the stem remains standing in the field. The remaining stems can then be mown afterwards to produce a straw swath, which can be windrowed, baled and used like normal straw.
The mod is currently in development and testing. The main functionality is working, including straw recovery after wholecropping, but the visual height and appearance of the standing stems is still being refined to make it look as realistic as possible.
Planned features include automatic raised wholecrop cutting, recoverable standing stubble, mower-to-straw conversion, proper savegame support and compatibility with standard and modded forage harvesters and mowers.
Still a prototype/WIP — more updates coming soon.
