Independent left and right rear brakes, the way a real tractor has them.
Most tractors have two brake pedals, one for each rear wheel. Press only one and the
machine pivots around that wheel, turning far tighter than the steering alone allows.
This mod brings that to every tractor in the game.
It is at its most useful in tight yards, in the woods, and whenever a heavy load on the
back makes the front axle go light and the steering vague.
THE DIFFERENTIAL
The rear differential is opened automatically for as long as a brake is held, and put
back exactly as it was on release. This matters: with a locked diff both rear wheels are
tied to the same speed, so braking one side would just drag the whole axle instead of
turning the tractor.

CONTROLS
- Left steering brake: LeftAlt + Numpad 1
- Right steering brake: LeftAlt + Numpad 3
Hold a key for as long as you want the brake applied. Both at once gives you strong
braking on the rear axle. Keys can be changed in Options - Controls.
SETTINGS
Open scripts/TractorSteeringBrake.lua for four presets plus individual values for brake
force, mass scaling, ramp-up time, the optional speed limit and the differential
behaviour.
For the most realistic feel, set the gear shift mode to manual in the game options.
